They do not think all is hopeless and keel over and die to feel sorry for themselves, they stood up and fought, and throughout it all, they were happy, they were caring, they were strong.

Certainly, I understand that all. It's not like I'm on the track of becoming one of those miserable folk you speak of (nor am I saying here that you're implying that I am) when I've still found the remnant of goodness in modern society through the wonderful people I know in my personal life, like my friends at school or my girlfriend, and I'm of course not letting such a simple little internet image influence my entire judgement.
