Its all slop. Even if I make a high effort gemerald, it gets like a couple replies calling it a gem if I am lucky and then dies to a million bait threads. This is why nobody makes new OC anymore. It doesn't get any attention.

The entire point of making gems is to get attention. People act like people wanting attention is bad in any way. Its not. How the ecosystem works is that.

Nowadays on the sharty, we have chased off and banned every artist. And everything that isn't a slopjak or bait is ignored. This is why there are no gems anymore.

This is a newfag problem btw. Newfags overtook the site, never assimilated, and made sharty culture into their own distorted image.

Not really sure at this point which is why I am asking if there is any hope. You can't really fix a newfag takeover of the site retroactively. Its a proactive kind of thing you have to avoid by whiping them into shape. I fear I may become like the many 4cuck oldfags in saying that this is innevitable for an imageboard that gets popular too fast. Maybe Q will save us or something

ur right there needs to be a purge of some kind . i’ve seen it get a little better though? i think there’s hope if we just let it die out
 
I am talking out of my ass here but I wouldn't be surprised if the increase in quality every midnight is from newtoddlers going to bed for school

Maybe if everyone else than good for nothing neets in their 30s were not retards who can do nothing other than make a new zero reply slopjak quote thread that they will abandon in 5 mins to make another one I wouldn't say that.
 
I think thread spamming needs to be adressed. Part of what makes the catty suck is that most of the threads are throwaway quote threads or bait threads that get zero interaction and only serve to bump other threads of the log. Maybe there needs to be some measure to limit the amount of threads one person can make in a short amount of time. Maybe 5 threads per hour per person? Does that seem reasonable? I know catty duels are "le culture" but when there are a million retards doing it, it simply bumps all the real threads into obscurity and makes the catty garbage.

Problem is that /soy/ can't pull double duty, serving as both the main board of sewer spam and shit nobody cares about, as well as the board where people post high effort posts and gems
/qa/ should be the fast, spammy, open sewer board, while /soy/ should be a slower, gem filled board. But instead we have nu/b/ and nostalgia/qa/
