Discussion Is psychology bullshit?

Or does it have some validity? I feel like in most cases psychologists will only try as hard as they can to retain their patients as opposed to actually help improve people's lives. At least it's the impression I get seeing people irl being just as troubled as they were prior to starting taking therapy.
It doesn't help that it's an oversaturated career mostly chosen by women and libshit transvegan male allies.
 
My grievances with the mental health industry is that it prioritizes women, is only suited for "everyday struggles" like "depression" and "anxiety" while those who suffer immensely are left in the dust due to the lack of people who have suffered through that stuff. Of course I believe people suffer in their own way, but there are people who suffer more than others, and that's something that should be clarified when people say that sort of stuff.

It prioritizes women due to the lack of men in the system who can help out other men, and because of that, men who enter therapy are not connecting with the psychologist due to men (on average) suffering more than women, and women are typically more emotional and can thus get through their emotions more easily. Not only that but the surge in TikTok-raised teenagers who create a label then attach it onto themselves (ADHD, Autism, Tourettes, DID etc.) just makes it harder for people who actually have these things to get a diagnosis. Tons of these people exploit the system and create fake diagnoses and only worsen themselves, and thus they have more of a reason to affiliate themselves with that illness.

Not only that but they commonly diagnose children with ADHD because their brains weren't meant to sit in school 6 hours a day, they give you "meds" to heal the symptoms of the problem but not the problem itself, and basically just create unnecessary problems that you have to deal with later on. Doping up your kids on Adderall isn't a solution for your kids boredom in school, and it should never be.

My friend got diagnosed with ADHD and started taking meds for it (contained methamphetamines) and the day after he got them he was telling me some retarded stuff about how "omg it works so well I usually get bored of playing minecraft after like 3 hours but I played it for 9 hours today".

I study psychology and I think it's pretty cool. The most problematic field of psychology is social psychology, which is infested with politics and troons.
And then there clinical psychology where it sometimes seems to me that researchers snort some lines of coke before coming up with their theories, and which then leads to the complete ineffectiveness of some cure, but the rest is fine and really helpful.

Occupational psychology tries to figure out how to make amazon facilities and concentration camps more efficient
Differential psychology comes up with useful tools to classify people, such as IQ tests, personality tests, which are used in the military, in high end jobset cetera
Neuropsychology tries to figure out the biological ground of psychological phenomenons, and then how to treat defects et cetera
Cognitiva psychology tries to understand how different processes like memory, sight, attention et cetera work

Really is social psychology which is the big problem, it comes up with retarded explanations and theories about racism and gender and is the cause for much of the current stance on social issues

Can you really be a psychologist and overlook those branches entirely though? Won't you be forced to spout stuff that you don't agree with when you graduate and subsequently start working?

Ideally I wanna study neuropsychology and neurosciences.
One subject that fascinates me is consciousness, I wanna see if there's like a physical ground where you could "locate" consciousness in the brain.
I don't really wanna be a therapist, I wanna be a researcher.
But tbh if I'm forced to bow down to tranny overlords I'll just go into theology or something.
But from what I see, different psychology fields are quite removed from one another, outsiders tend to think of psychology as one massive homogenous block when it really isn't, I have people in my university hating each other because they have different theories, and some who just never interact with one another because they work on completely different things
 
Yeah, it's real and interesting. If your problem isn't physically harming you or anyone else, the "psychiatrist" is likely just there for cash. There might be exceptions doe.
 
Psychology serves as an alternative to the traditional religious view of the human condition to brainwash you into thinking there's something wrong with you and put you on jewpills. There is no difference between saying "he acts that way because of demonic possession" and saying "he acts that way because of autism". Both of them group together a certain set of behaviors and create a way to explain it. If we look at it objectively, one is not more valid than the other and it's up to you to pick which one to believe in, and I'd rather believe in the religious view because it has the history and the tradition to back it up; I know it works. You can of course "believe in" psychology all you want, just don't act like there aren't other ways of looking at human behaviors. Because at the end of the day, psychology is just about the same as astrology.

I was thinking earlier about how therapists basically just tell you you're broken and act as if you need to be "fixed". Something something, curing the fish instead of cleaning the fishbowl.

TSMT. Is it a coincidence that the government is drugging us with chemicals and pills and tell us that WE are the problem? That erratic behavior is "permanent mental illness" and "can't be fixed"? We look back in the old days and wonder why nobody died of cancer and heart attacks then eat goyslop and consoom with almost no social interaction, and we wonder why people are "mentally ill".

I could try to talk with you about this but I doubt anything I will say will change your mind so I'd rather not waste time.

I don't see both as opposite realities.
As I said in the christianity thread, I'm slowly realizing the duality in the Son, or the Word, which is a duality that can be applied almost everywhere which relates to the Son. Humanity relates to the Son.

And I believe that psyche also follows this duality, in that the human psyche is perfectly metaphysical or spiritual. and perfectly physical at the same time. And what fascinates me, which is what pushed me onto psychology in the first place, is the interaction between the physical and the spiritual in the brain. Sure, current psychology is completely opposed to anything that isn't physical, but I believe that the key to destroying this barrier is the study of consciousness

More people die of cancer now because less people die of contagious diseases or accidents. Every person born must die so deaths are now caused by diseases that are not contagious such as cancer, heart disease, etc.
