Is it normal to feel overly anxious with your dogs being around kids?

I was outside with my dogs on lead when I saw two little kids on my curb pointing at them excitedly. I always love to show my animals to kids because being shown and able to interact with new animals I had never seen before are some of my fondest childhood memories. So I brought each dog over for them to pet. This should have been a very bright moment in my monotenous daily schedule of doomshifting through my browser tabs, however, I was extremely nervous and on edge the whole time. My dogs are extremely peaceful and submissive to a fault, so I know they wouldn't hurt anyone, but I was still on edge about the possibility of the dogs scaring them or the off chance that I somehow fail to control my dog and it gets into their face. Everything went very smoothly, except my most friendly dog twitched her lips back for a second which could either be playful or defensive so I skipped the petting for her. I don't know if the kids even saw it, but I feel like kids are naturally a little wary around dogs, especially ones as big as them.
Am I overthinking things too much? The kids seemed to leave happily and thanked me for letting them pet my dogs.
I feel like all of my time being exposed to sensationalist arguing about irresponsibility and everyone picking eachother apart has reflected onto my own psyche. Sometimes it feels like I see kids more as a liability than anything else.

Haha good luck. Frilled dragons are rare in the trade. Also like anything that isn't your basic bearded dragon or crested gecko they are going to be as expensive as a gaming PC. They are close relatives of beardies though, apparenlty when they aren't inbred into having down syndrome they are extremely fiesty from what I hear. Frilleds are rare so they are probably still very wild. They also come from australia and australia is literal 1984 with exporting its native animals.

There's a place in the US that can get and sell them, IIRC. Not cheap of course, but again, I expect as much, it's a live exotic animal, after all. Great points though, I'm not trying to dismiss your response at all.

Hahha I know the feeling. Are you a collector type of fishkeeper? I have 13 tanks. I badly want a puffer but most of them behave like rapecels and get really big, that or they are brackish water fish. There is one perfect peaceful medium puffer that is freshwater, the congo spotted puffer, but it’s from the congo, so it fetches a price between 300$ and 400$. 200 if you are lucky. I am waiting for pyramid skeem breeders to flood the market with them before I finally pull the trigger. Also do want to splurge on a freshwater moray some time.
omg yes i was planning on a scp puffer but they’re way too expensive
currently have 2 tanks, one that i’m using as a snail breeding facility and the other which is being used by herman, a figure 8 puffer, and sherman, my fahaka, now you may be asking, why is a brackish puffer with a freshwater? herman isn’t fully grown yet, so he can handle the freshwater for like 2 more months and then sherman will get moved to the 135 gallon and i’ll turn the 29 gallon brackish.
extremely negligent, i know.

😓😓
i tested the waters and herman didn’t care at all for Sherman’s existence, and he isn’t aggressive at all. i only keep puffers and i’m just getting back into the aquarium game, but i’m planning on getting more fishes.

If you are actually dedicated theres nothing wrong with going for it if you have the money. I major in fish, a trade in which sick animals that are going to die being for sale is an extremely common occurence, and its usually the most exotic fish that are the most likely to be terminally ill, so when I see a really expensive and rare species of critter for sale I naturally get second thoughts. Be careful who you buy stuff like that from.

I'm too lazy to do brackish for the time being. I experimented with brackish fish in my freshwater tanks (It 100% can work btw depending on the fish) but figured out my water is extremely soft and acidic which kills them off quickly. I can't even keep livebearers alive for long in my tanks because they actually prefer hard water. So I instead mostly keep rainforest fish that love swimming in tea. Also I hate that you can't really do plants in a brackish tank, and I am a lazy let plants take care of the water fag. I might really go ahead and set up a brackish tank if I find a free 30/40 gallon on the side of the road. Probably with a puffer and mudskippers.

if you really want a puffer amazon puffers are a small but not too small like pea puffers option that are freshwater!
i'm going to try to act like a sleazy door-to-door salesman more in the fact that i'm gonna find some guy who just can't take care of his fish and just gives me a tank for a super low price.
(which is what i'm doing for this 135 gallon, it's either a scam or something else cuz it's 50-70% less than a normal price for one.)

Oh I've tried amazons. My local fish store only sells shitty ones on deaths door and I gave up on them. I will probably try again if I can find a nice fat one though. I saw a 'cado puffer once and I really want to try that too

I don’t know this, my dog is pretty small-medium size and basically poses no threat other than the disease transmission of every other dog.
