There was some half-german half-turkish guy named Johann Ruppert who ran into trouble with the German authorities due to his ancestry and complained to the Turkish embassy about it. The Nazis considered it undesirable to apply the Aryan question to Turkey at the time and as such, they solved the matter by declaring Turks to be "European".
