try to find artists with very unique artstyles and copy what they do, mixing in their artstyles until you land on one that's original and fun for you to do.

I mean thats what i did, im proud of how it looks most of the time. My main issue with it is mostly with facial expressions and shit i guess.

not rn since im phone posting. i guess for reference most of my shit like i mentioned on the original post looks like fallen chungus twitter blob shit whenever i try exaggerating expressions on my main artstyle.
i figured it mightve had something to do with the facial structure of my characters. i have a couple of images of those references.

m I don't really know how to help you here. Maybe drawing disgusting and scary things like ugly people and monsters could help. My philosophy is usually if I want to get good at drawing nasty things then I have to get good at drawing cute things first, that way I know what'll look off and disgusting or something. Maybe reverse that and you can get what you want.

I think I'm good at drawing gross shit if anyone's seen the other doodles I tend to post here you'd know what I'm talking about I just don't know how to replicate it in my main art style without breaking it. I'm thinking on experimenting more since I'm too afraid of making my characters look "off model" sometimes so maybe making my art style look more flexible and not worrying about making them look "cute" enough would work.

to be honest i really don’t know what she means, i think what she means, though, is that all of those faces and expressions in that sketch pretty much look the same and she wants to change that. that’s called same face syndrome, what i like to do is i sketch shit and then when i’m done i close my eyes and imagine what my sketches look like, if my head imagines them all unique faces or expressions, then i won, but if they all blend together and i can’t separate them, then i lost.

nobody has a unique artstyle, while some artstyles have negative annotations with how they look like or the people that draw them, you can draw that aswell. i myself have been copying my artstyle from an artist that i like
