I live in Turkey and:
  • You can't use Pastebin
  • You can't access any site that has porn at all, including the 'cuck
  • Also some random sites are banned for no reason (thankfully we have the 'sharty)
  • Can't insult the founder of Turkey

He didn't get locked up because Turkish authorities really don't give two shits about 'p. I mean, it's illegal, but it's probably cared like 10% as much as in America.

It's fucking retarded. Also, Goth is from Northern Cyprus, I don't know if 4chan is banned there.

Everything is blocked. Can't use the internet at all without a vpn. With every protest it gets worse. Finding vpns that aren't blocked is in itself a challenge. Talking shit about the gov can end you up in prison (if they find you that is). Sometimes when things get heated up, they completely shut off the internet. They would make the internet work only for inside the country websites but too many people's incomes depend on it so it's not going to happen for now.

Zero censorship. Land of the free baby.
Sure, you can visit all of the websites you’d like, but if you visit one the FBI doesn’t like, they will certainly visit you. Had this happen about half a year ago. While searching for a PDF for a text about the Bosnian War from the perspective of the Muslims who fought in it (I think it was called “In The Hearts of Green Birds” in reference to one of the hadiths about the souls of war martyrs being placed within green birds in Jannah, I don’t know why they’re green, just more Muslim babble I guess. Not sure why the hell they’re birds, either. If I died in war I wouldn’t want to be turned into a bird, of all animals, in my paradise. Also not sure how the whole 72 houris thing will work if you’re a bird with wings and a beak), I stumbled across this ancient jihadist website, I think it was al-Qaeda affiliated, last updated about 2013 with an article arguing for why ISIS wasn’t the true caliphate and why al-Qaeda’s Syrian fighters were gonna win. I explored the site a little more after seeing that I could literally just look the name of it up on Google and instantly find it, found some pretty funny stuff on there, like some extreme veneration of Osama bin Laden, a bunch of Iraqi insurgency CDs available for download, and some low quality nasheeds from Abu Ali (you can find them in far higher quality on YouTube anyway). Left the site, pretty much forgot about it, and sure enough, a few months later two elderly FBI agents arrived at the door. They never came into my house or anything, they just said “Hey, we saw you visited this site. No worries, happens all the time, just wanted to make sure there’s no al-Qaeda terror cell at this address” and then we had a conversation for the next five or so minutes on how I found it and then they left. I can’t remember or find the domain to the site and it’s probably offline by now since looking up “In The Hearts of Green Birds” on Google doesn’t have it show up like it did for me, all I remember is it had Islam in the name and a few dashes in the URL. Probably best for me to stay away from it doe since I’d rather not have the local state FBI bother me again.

Before 2022 there was no serious censorship, main opposition websites and YT channels existed freely and nobody cared. There was an attempt to ban Telegram, but it was a complete clownery, bans were easily bypassed, and it all looked like an attempt by the regime to discredit itself.

After 2022, the government suddenly began to seriously block not only sites, but also VPNs themselves, and 90% of VPNs stopped working. Moreover, the rest of the world started blocking us too. For some reason, the sites with recipes are the ones that block access for russians the most.
