I really don't know how people can play 1 game for thousands of hours. Most I got are like 400 hours in tf2/gmod.

Some games have a lot of replayability. A lot of the times it's about the skill gap between the players rather than the game's content itself that provides it. It took me 1,400 hours of Counter strike to get bored of it. Many of those hours were played with buddies, solo queue is depressing.

tldr: ppl play a lot because yea or something fun with friends
