I just had a realization on Jordan B. Peterson's philosophy and his error about faith.
He in a lot of ways ressembles an atheist because he actually thinks like a gnostic. He rejects materialism so hard that he sees any way to ground the spiritual in the physical as a way to de-mystify God and make the Faith purely about facts, without making it about carrying one's own cross.

But rejecting the physical and calling it bad is basically what gnosticism amounts to. Sure, he has a point in saying that we shouldn't just focus on facts without living a spiritual life behind it, and it is the big sickness of modern christians without the shadow of a doubt, these christians be they on the left or the right of the political spectrum, but separating the physical and the spiritual is once again misunderstanding gravely the nature of God, of revelation, of Jesus, the Bible and the intrinsic duality that lies within the gospel.

I unironically am probably gonna write a book on the subject because the duality of nature is so deeply rooted in christian theology that a misunderstanding of it can lead one astray pretty far.
Faith isn't just about the actions, it is also about confession and belief. As Jesus is both divine in nature and human, revelation is ALWAYS both spiritual and allegorical AND historical. There is no separating both, there is no part of the Bible that is either one or the other, they are ALWAYS both.
And I'm sure that if Peterson understoof this duality, he'd have less of a problem actually confessing God as a real entity.

I should state an elementary truth : scientists, if we are speaking merely about muh facts, do usually know a lot that I might not know. But what we want in religion is not merely facts. What we want is true philosophy and true theology. A theology that does not change itself just because a bunch of worldly scientists demand it. And that is why I am Orthodox. Even something as theocratic as Shia Islam bent the knee to evolutionists. But Orthodoxy did not.

Western christianity is not lost, far from it, but I do fear the reaction that will be born out of current tendencies, if we end on the drastic opposite side we might once again harm ourselves.

Yeah but you cannot have one without the other.
Peterson is purely in the spiritual, and that leads him to say things like "Did Jesus rose from the dead ? Well what does that mean ?" Because he sees everything as spiritual mythological significant objects of studies, and not necessarily as historical facts, which leads to problems when talking especially about the resurrection of Christ.
