I don't think they've had it the hardest though, it's a fight of knowing better and how to navigate, we have technology that makes our lives much more comfortable than half a century ago, we don't have to work as hard in certain departments, almost everyone has a smartphone now of which they can learn anything about everything and educate themselves on whatever topic interests them, in an ideal world the collective generation would be some of the smartest people to ever walk on earth.

They have it shit socially because of this, these days beauty is being basically attacked mercilessly by the eternal menace, you get marginalized if your humor is actually funny, your art gets kicked back from school if it looks good, none of the popular music has sophistication, and if that doesn't get you, the onslaught of insufferable faggots willing to take credit and hijack your shit sure will
