I think they have, they just have a skewed view of what it actually is because there's no requirement for them to actually use it unless they really want to for whatever reason, they have everything they could want with TikTok, Twitter, Youtube and Reddit.

Think of a popular TV show or film that captured the eyes of audiences in the 2020s that didn't just exist in the collective through memes.
Other than broccoli hair and middle parts, as well as dying the tips of one's hair blonde, what was the last big fashion trend with clothes or hairstyle.
Think of anything that was noteworthy to the cultural zeitgeist or moved things forward in a different direction than before in the 2020s, compared to the 2010s.
There is definitely a lack of change or at least a change of longevity.

This sounds grim, internet nostalgia is shit as fuck, I can't imagine being a 2030s ipad kid being nostalgic for 2014 when xher existence would've been practically the same as it is in 2034.
