I've play every far cry like far cry 3, 4, 5 and even 6.
I haven't play blooddragon, or farcry 1 and 2 doe

Far Cry 2 was the best one that I played, I found enjoyment out of every part of it. Felt like a much better mission style than the one introduced with Far Cry 3.

I only played as the Haitian guy because, even if you're playing as a foreign mercenary from a land far away from Central Africa, being a guy from Haiti just made me feel more acquainted with my playstyle.

I like FC3 and 4. Haven't played the others. Also the map editor in fc3 can be more fun than the game itself sometimes.

go play fc1 and fc2, it's worth your time

far cry 1 : one of the best 00s sbooter (the other being fear and crysis) with a lot of freedom, and caring on level design.
fc2 : hardcore african simulator similar to stalker games, quite niche doe.
fc3, fc4, primal : casualized for the wider audience but okay for some dumb fun.
fc5 : completely went to the "ocean wide, puddle deep" direction. Ironically, it now has less freedom than the previous games, since pretty much every single quest are scripted clusterfuck.
new dawns: fc5 but even lamer, I pirated this shit and still feel ripped off. Had to use cheat engine to cut down all the grind. I'm done with the fc franchise ever since this shit.

i feel like new games from big publishers are really watered down
