Hell in our faith is not a place of torture by demons. This is a great misunderstanding. This isn't ever indicated to us by God in my perception of His word. It is made clear by John's vision in Revelation that God is the master to this realm of hell, as He will be the Master of all in the end, for what is an eternal victory over evil if evil would still persist in one realm? As it is said in there:
>When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. - Book of Revelation, Chapter 1, Verses 17-18
In Lord Jesus' own word, this dominance over hell by God is further shown.
>Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. - Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 25, Verse 41
Hell is the soul's state of being without God and without mortality, and the heavens are this state with God when lacking morality, for life is, by the belief of our faith, linear, ultimately leading only to this eternal state, divided by God's presence or lack thereof with the soul through the status of its free acceptance of Christ as Guiding Lord by His grace in the soul's previous mortality in which it lived. This is in man's hands by God's gracious gift, but salvation is a different topic than the simple misconception that I have tried to clear up just now from an explanation of my perception and understanding of hell, and so I'll end my talking here.
