In the analogy, grandma is being killed so that the family doesn't have to watch her die on her death bed later. Baxter the dog is a four-year-old goldendoodle, and five-year-old Ryan, Baxter's owner, has just realized that, at some point, Baxter is going to get old and die. Should Ryan throw Baxter off of the home balcony because he doesn't want to go through the pain of watching the dog die later in his life, or should he let Baxter continue to run around and enjoy his life even while knowing that he'll eventually watch Baxter take his final breaths?
