1. The burrito predates the Taco, I think
2. We're talking about Tacos, not Burritos
3. Mexicans are still a messy inconvenient people, even if they create a less messy and less inconvenient food (which is just a wrap, and has been created since ancient times everywhere)

Uh buddy, tempura, peri peri chicken, empanadas, bacalao, flan, paella, gazpacho, Rabo de Toro, churros, chorizo, buñuelos, many rice dishes in Latin America are directly taken from or inspired by Spanish rice dishes, suckling pig, arroz con leche, devils curry, fish and chips was of Iberian origin technically….., and Hawaiian rolls

Spain has good food I've heard. I've heard Basque Country is new home of fine dining, French restaurants have gone downhill due to diversity enrichment. Spaniards I know do good work with seafood, pork, and chocolate... It's very different from Mexican cuisine other than some shared dishes like Churros, and as people have been saying in this thread, empanadas.
