If you want to hit hard, you should turn your hips to further increase your strike power. I like doing landmine presses for a stronger and faster punch, but explosive push-ups work too.

If you want to strike fast, develop a fast reaction time. You can also go heavy on a heavy punching bag to increase your punching speed.

Anyone else do boxing besides me?

My boxing style is a mix of both American and Mexican. I say this because I noticed that I've been most comfortable using the Philly Shell often and I've been trying to be more slick with my dodges. As for the Mexican part. I noticed that I've been using my head movement to dodge punches. I've also been more aggressive and direct.

yall niggas better make me not feel alone with BLACKEDCLITTY here.

Being a short boxer like me puts you in a unique position. You don't have reach however, this can be compensated by being harder to hit. You can go lower to the ground using your head, making it harder for opponents to strike you.

When you're sparring with somebody, if you get hit, you're going to be fine. Your headgear will protect you at the cost of obscured vision. It's ok if you get hit, just do better at dodging or blocking the strike. If you're a real man, you don't wear headgear. Then and only then will you have to be more cautious.

Footwork is VERY important.
Learning Defensive moves first has been proven to increase how long a person lasts in the ring.
