wdym yes there was, it did have selective pressure, survival, hunting, tool making and more. The benefits were far better than the costs and cons of it

I'm not trolling you, it all outweighed the cons, evolution did not plan for humans to do anything it's just that the higher intelligence was highly beneficial in our environment and so it was selected for and as humans continued to evolve intelligence became our main thing BECAUSE THE SMARTEST MEMBERS IN OUR SPECIE REPRODUCED
