Yeah, so I was referencing that act by then connecting it to their wedding tradition of stealing the groom's shoe and ransoming it back to them. Since those spam call centers are also primarily centered in India or Pakistan, the joke was that this tradition of stealing the groom's shoe for ransom was similar to the criminal practice of stealing bank accounts for ransom.

Wow, that's an amazing quality Bible for its age. I'd guess it's the 1769 King James Version translation (a small update to the original 1611 translation, which changed the words to a less-archaic tune of English that we today can understand more efficiently than the full-on Shakespeare-like text of four-hundred years ago), as it was printed in 1879, judging by that front page there, and from what it says in the first pages that you showed. Very neat to see.

it’s actually in real good condition it just smelt rly mouldy when i got it and still does a bit, but the pages r so thin and brittle i have to be quite careful. damn thing was so expensive . so i can read this? no problem?

If you'd prefer reading a physical book of such a fine and old quality, rather than just keeping it in preservation as an antique, you could certainly read from it. Still, I feel a digital version, and a translation of more efficiently-understandable English (like the English Standard Version) might be better for getting a full comprehension of scripture. It's up to you, whatever you prefer to read from. I read most things using my computer, but that's my own preference.
