Yea, IIRC mint was the better beginner friendly distro back then as well.

The problem with linux is that it lacks software. I need autoCAD for work and the CAD software on linux leaves a lot to be desired. I also have a bloated excel file loaded with macros passed down by generations that I use daily that won't run on anything but MS excel.

I've never used it myself but I know people who do. Linux works if you're a coder I guess, but it's not viable for a lot of jerbs out there and the superiority complex most linuxfags have is downright r/atheism tier cringe.
