Something definitely seems off. I could see him asking for a bunch of cards from one game if he was a sperg, but just every random card in your inventory?
Maybe he does some exploit with the dust or whatever you get from breaking down cards, if that's still a thing?

Yea, I think he's just offering a trade that looks good for something most people find worthless. He probably wants to break the cards down and doesn't care about the shit he's trading

Steam should add up the prices of each trade just like runescape that would be epic

Albeit Steam doesn't have the correct prices of TF2 items. Backpack.tf tends to give you a good estimate and the pip-boy is only worth $0.15. A card is like $0.05
