Ruby has been Riley's caretaker ever since we first saw Riley with a knife in her promo art being helf back by Ruby, i'm getting the feeling that despite Ruby's love for making an effort to keep the peace in school by taking care of Riley, i do feel that she wishes she could hang out with other classmates like Bubble and Petunia but can't just becuase she can't leave Riley alone.

Ruby most likely started out underdeveloped and not very understanding, she's an adaptive learning AI.
I'd imagine she'd atleast come from her birth with basic knowledge on ettiquite and language.

Ruby and Robby are a better pair, Riley is someone Ruby has to babysit while Robby is her developer, it's a lot more relaxing and awesome to see Ruby with Robby than with that crazy knife girl.

About my Ruby imaginary friend/hallucination (i'm schizo), i have started to kiss her before sleeping, i always imagine she sleeps standing up and plugged in charging.
