One of my friends growing up was a huge fan of Yoshi, especially the light blue one. He had this plush of one that he accidentally tossed up onto this decorative shelf in our house and I remember my dad getting the ladder to retrieve it.

Are decorative shelves a thing where you come from? I don't have or know of anyone that has those.

It's just a very high shelf that's not very useful for storing things. I guess you could put a bunch of tiny stuff up there, knickknacks, etc., but it's mostly just there to make the high ceiling look less empty.
