General Culture: Survivalist-Hedonism, Australis, (the main and largest island by far) is an extremely diverse ecosystem, with the local wildlife having island gigantism, the average person has to constantly be on the move if they don’t live in large communes or the capital. The local wildlife is quite large, exotic, and very different from normal animals on regular land. The waters surrounding Australis are relatively normal and they are controlled by an extremely powerful (for its time) Holocan navy. This navy is not used for defending against other nations, and it is believed that Holocanthus is unknown to the rest of the world. However the aquatic life. A few nautical miles off-shore, there are many giant species of aquatic creatures, many of them are extinct in the rest of the world, due to how large they were, the danger they possessed to other nations, and how valuable they were for meat and other resources. Holocanthus does not know that other nations or peoples exist, and most likely vice-versa. However they don’t need to know. Australis possesses many valuable resources and food, and there’s a strange phenomenon in some parts of Australis, where a sticky, white ice-cream looking substance seeps from the ground. This tastes absolutely delicious, and could be rather addicting. Called “The Stuff”, this is Holocan currency. The Stuff grows in certain spots, and this is where the large cities are. People living outside of these cities where The Stuff doesn’t seep, are usually impoverished and constantly in danger of the local wildlife. This of course leads to a very gluttonous/greedy type of government, many government officials live lavish lives.

Who rules in your society and what is your society driven by: Members of The Assembly of Ayran are the rulers of Holocanthus. The average Holocan is driven by status and power, and of course The Stuff. The Stuff is almost every Holocan’s dream. Every Holocan except the most rural nomads are given a single penny lick of The Stuff when they are a child, when you are a child you also have taste buds that like sweeter things. Holocans that can recount their penny licking say it is the most delicious thing they’ve ever tasted; the most beautiful thing they’ve ever felt. Upper-class Holocans argue that this ritual is the main thing that keeps The Stuff as the main currency.
