Discussion Namefag drama ruins website quality

How does it ruin the quality? If you mean the constant derailing, then yeah I agree

trve, I think they are alright to have on here, but it get's tiring when you see an interesting topic that gets derailed in the first page for some snca beef or drama.
 
On boards that are specifically designed to keep everyone at the same level (the sharty, 'ru etc), namefagging is absolute cancer and must be outlawed.
Sites like this should help to mitigate this problem by giving users a place to be a namefag without having to destroy the anonymous nature of the sharty.

it's definitely better to have them here, than on the sharty or the 'ru.

I want this, it would basically be a better version of the sharty since imageboards are outdated and clunky by today's standards, imagine the state of the shitflinging that would happen if nobody could identify each other accurately

Back when this place wasn't as popular as it is now we had zero posters like these yet we weren't anonymous

Because nobody knew each other and was as close to anonymity as namefagging can possibly get because everyone was new to each other.
Over time this naturally degrades when the users get to know each other more and more
