I wasn't allowed on the only computer in the house (my dad's) unless it was to watch a specific youtube video or show him something I wanted to buy from eBay. Of course, not being able to browse myself means I didn't do that much.I had my own computer since I was 6, but my parents would let me use theirs since birth
Thats so coolHmm, let me think of a quick summary.
I was born in 2004 in the North New Jersey slums, and a year later my family relocated to the suburbs of Philadelphia. Things were going well, my neighborhood was trashy but awesome neighbors. Made a lot of diverse friends at school. Started to use the internet at the age of four in 2008, with my older sibling teaching me how to play Club Penguin on the family PC. Later on in 2010-11 I discovered YouTube and watched a whole lot of hekkin oldfag memes like YTPs and such.
I tried to live a "disconnected" life away from home, seeing how 'cord addicted my fat older sister was (even was a 'corder before Discord was a thing, used a site called Xat), because of that I refrained from getting a cellular phone and did all my internet things at home. Then instead of going to a normal high school, I went to a Vocational High School and went to study auto body repair. As I grew older I started to enjoy traveling around my area, at 15 I was already going 10-20 miles away from home on my bike. Traveling around New Jersey and Pennsylvania by myself without having to deal with nagging mother felt like true freedom. Then at 17 I got my drivers license and enjoyed road trips to places like Intercourse PA or having fun at Six Flags by myself.
My parents, who were originally glad that I tried to disconnect myself from the internet, got tired of not being able to contact me 24/7 and being called from a sketchy gas station payphone, forced me a cellular at 18 so that was the end of my living free era. I ended up graduating in 2022 certified in auto body, ready to head into the industry but my parents didn't want me to go that route and forced me to attend college, which I guess is nice but is eating up my years.
Today, I'm still attending college and work as a delivery driver, things have gotten a bit downhill but I'm doing alright. I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do with my future, but my goal is to just live in a small commercial garage by myself, that's what I think a happy life will be like.
