As a male author, is writing about a female protagonist gay and retarded?

I have a draft for a videogame about a woman who suffers from childhood sexual abuse, silent hill / fantasyland type exploration game where the more you play it would peel back the truth and erase the original fake narrative that the game wanted you to believe, that it was just a wholesome game about a girl exploring space, in actuality its a game about a 23 year old woman trapped inside of her 16 year old self, refusing to acknowledge the pain and eventually be forced to come to terms with it. Perhaps it's indicitive of her mental state during therapy or of someone with stockholm syndrome. Essentially, a psychological horror game like Doki Doki. I stopped working on the idea because I thought it might be insensitive of me to make it and not ask female sexual assault survivors or victims of rape for any input, as faggoty and as libtardy as that sounds, I don't want to make a game that feels like it doesn't address the issue as much as it needs to or is far too surface level or doesn't treat the main character well and perhaps the topic of mental age regression and shit isn't a good thing to base a story on, but I suppose a tldr is that I felt like it would just be too risky and people might not understand the message. I suppose there isn't a moral to it, but it just explores an idea and bases a game around it and that was good enough for me at the time.

Anyways, that draft helped me inspire something similar which I'm working on now (kind of, but not really, I recently 3D modeled a single character for it AND IT HAS FULLY MODELED HANDS HOLY SHIT!!!) which hopefully will be a game about characters who have done morally grey things in life, coming to terms with trauma and their actions that got them to where they currently are, this time with an adult male main character who is a father and 36 years old and also a Christian. These characters want to go to heaven, but they can't, and they're not in hell either, they're stuck somewhere in between, like purgatory, but not really. The main character lost his daughter, she was killed, slowly he started to get more and more angry, he wanted answers and he found them, and when he found them, he took matters into his own hands. After he tragically ends it all, he finds himself in "Redemption", a dimension of creatures that are too twisted for heaven but too innocent for hell. There are many characters like him in this dimension who all need help with their problems and this is how he will redeem himself, by talking to them and helping them with their issues and exploring Redemption, solving puzzles, he'll slowly progress through the dimension to solve his main problem. Is he successful? Does he get to go to heaven? Well, we don't know actually, his ending is rather bittersweet.

I'm basically obsessed with the idea of making an abstract exploration game with a story, like Firewatch but more free-roam, like B3313 or Yume Nikki. Something that's serious but disturbing and also creepy but light hearted enough that you could get transported into a candyland world or a sunny sky world and have that feel weird somehow. I've been feeling like to make a good game recently, you need to tell a good story, and do so in a way that's interesting. I used to be obsessed with gameplay and lack there of a story, but now I feel like games are more like an artform to me or interactive movies, which is why I've come to love The Stanley Parable, Life is Strange, TellTale games, etc.

Sometimes I get really good ideas I can write down and then just have no fucking clue how I'm supposed to do it and in what order I do it in. They say stop planning shit and just do it but it feels like the planning stage has to be a while before I can actually do the thing so I can actually make the characters and flesh them out and shit, but man actually planning it takes forever, it's this horrible cycle of making ideas that are too ambitious that I can't get them off of the ground and it happens to everything. I even had an idea for a simple RPG and that just turned into like fucking Persona but medieval and with dungeons and shit.

One thing I really wanna do is make something really really simple just so I can prove that I can actually finish things and make stuff with SOVL but I guess the most simplest of ideas to me will take 1 year minimum GEG. And I'm not joking, the simplest game I've ever made took about an entire year to make and it's so embarassing because I could probably rewrite the entire thing in like a week.
 
If you're not going to use any kind of visual medium then I guess it's mostly irrelevant whether your protagonist is a man or a woman given the context. Internet shit is confusing to everyone all the same if they're as disconnected from it as people from rural villages usually are.

With their customs and cultures being completely alien to her, she quickly realizes this world isn't as friendly as those from her dreams and tries to escape back to real life.

I don't believe you are writing a book, prove it. Also having a female lead is probably gay, but if you are a good enough writer, you can make it not gay.
