Also the syllabus says the class is a FREE space for discussion of various ideas but in the SAME paragraph says anything racist sexist homotransxenophobic will NOT be tolerated!!!

My advice is to get into extracurricular shit so you can "network" with professors and pad your resume.
My student research is pretty simple, but i still get to say that i "led a team" and "organized tasks" and all that. plus, now i am close to several experts in the field I want to go into.

I think that school in general is pretty fucked. It's more about training you to wake up at 6am, sit down quietly for 8 hours, and teaching you to rely on authority.
"Zero-Tolerance Policy" is just how they teach you to "never stand up for yourself or your friends, you MUST rely on authority figures for help"

All that does is deprive you of that "coming of age moment" of standing up to aggressors. It teaches you that you should just get fucked up and hope that you're still alive to tell the cops.

Yeah its annoying. Im doing bio stuff and my soyence teacher brings up climate change in the first day of school. Any time people talk about it I just think nigga what about china and india burning all that coal and what about just using nuclear like a not retarded person?
Because of this I always think that anyone who brings up climate change framed in a way that we are the major ones responsible for causing it and need to fix it is an idiot. But literally everyone thinks that way on the internet and seemingly in college so maybe I am missing something? It seems like an easy fix and an easy thing to blame on asian superpowers. Am I safe to call them out on this or am I missing something that will make me look stupid?

My main professor that I've had for most of my classes is pretty based not gonna lie, he's not pozzed like most college professors are and is a genuine guy overall. Engineering fields all have honest guys who worked in various industries before becoming professor as their professors so they aren't prone to the same issues more artsy and social science professors are. I know my school suffers from the college BS but I can ignore it because I'm getting a real degree :D

Don't worry I have major doubts about dedicating all of my prime years in life to becoming a college drone. I hate being subordinate and I would rather be my own boss. I don't have to worry about financial survival because my parents pay for all of my needs, so I have a comfortable environment to set up my own business. I am only doing college now because covid let me do it for free and I wanted to see if I was mistaken about how bad college was. Tell you what though, I probably am never going to let them stack up classes on me if I can help it.
