Nobody hated discord until around 2019 when communities started using it to gatekeep incels, then those incels had a clittyfit on 4chan calling them "discord tr*nnies" because they didn't invite them to their party.

When these clittycels finally work of the courage to talk to a female they'll ask you for your discord account instead of a phone number. If you don't have one that's the end of the line for you and they'll probably give you a look of disgust and confusion. Who the fuck talks on mobile these days? The truth is there's no other median for communication left. When these people finally rise from their filth and get a job they'll be asked to sign up for discord to have meetings and plan things out; even slack is obsolete at this point.

Discord recently had a video embedded into their app which gained over 2.5 billion views in a day. At least 40% of the world population is using it daily. Of course according to the seething clittycel who got kicked out of the party these are all transgender women.

Email lists and forums? All made obsolete by discord. Chan boards are the only ones left because of their focus on anonymity.

It is replacing the forum, and it makes everything private in servers. Back then you can search for solutions that have been written down a decade ago, now you'd have to search in each individual cord that could have been vanished within an year.

This is very obviously bait but parts of this are unfortunately true, most zoomers are forced to use Discord for some reason or another, I’ve had some college courses even that basically mandated you to use their Discord server for any assistance
@NekoRightsActivist is also unfortunately correct, what would’ve been a good forum post is now a ‘cord post that doesn’t even get indexed by a search engine, and most of the time the message is forgotten for good once the server owner or the Discord jannies have a hissy fit and nuke the server, archiving posts is harder too as you can’t just put a link in a web archiver and have it permanently sit there, sure there are programs that can export ‘cord messages but they’re unwieldy and the archives themselves aren’t very convenient to share
