It might have something to do with people's attention spans getting worse. I used to be able to watch 40-50 minutes long lets play videos easily on one sitting, no problem. Now I can see most people don't focus that much. The masses prefer shorter and faster content, so the trend shifted towards it.

It's not very cash money but I evade KF for a reason, the forum is too big for my liking and despite it being marketed as a free speech platform if you go against a thread's rightthink or just trigger the wrong admin you can get termed quickly, despite having like 3-4 rules its nearly as rulecucked as a public discord server.
