Lee saw Barney the Dinosaur as an inferior, childish show, and so he compared My Little Pony to Barney's quality as a way to attack and humiliate his ultimate foes, the fans of My Little Pony, who were on 4cuck's MLP board. His greatest tool in doing this was an image of a TV schedule that showed Barney airing on a channel right before My Little Pony, as if to say that they are equal, and that, therefore, My Little Pony was a bad show.
