I loved the political compass and political compass content as a kid, it was so convenient for internalizing simple political ideas and relations, it could communicate abstract ideas easily, and on top of that it was so fluid it was effectively a rorschach test for whoever made it as well. The political compass allowed me to meet people that I am friends with to this day and generally gave a broader view of political thought as a whole. Even as the compass fell out of style, and even as my contemporaries grew older and disavowed it, I will still respect the compass as a symbol of personal growth in that era.
