Legacy Windows Media Player for pretty much everything, funny how it has a lot more features than the newer default media player on Win 10 and 11. Also use it to burn CDs.

mpv for movies (it plays nice with stuff like subtitles, audio tracks, and weird codecs, unlike both of the default windows players)
windows media player (both legacy and nu-one depending on which is more convenient) for music and everything else like random short videos (it just works, and mpv doesn't play nice with the keyboard pause buttons or even just accepting input while the window is unfocused... at least on my machine. no, i don't know what package i install to fix it)
