I really love the DC-10 & MD-11 because trijets just look really neat. The TriStar is also cool but it has a weird design.

Funny that you mentioned that, because the DC-10 indirectly ended it. From what I remember, a poorly-maintained one left some debris on a runway and you probably know the rest of the story. Very neat concept though. Maybe suborbital travel will take its place if they ever manage to bring the price down.

I had actually forgotten about Continental entirely until you mentioned them. Looking them up shows that they merged with United a while back. Interesting.
You're right though, American air travel is fucking abysmal. I live in a big mutt city with an international airport and from what people have told me it's a clusterfuck. Delays of 30+ minutes are genuinely considered normal. It's crazy.
Kinda veering off topic but aviation in general here in muttland fucking sucks. There's just so much shit you have to put up with if you want to actually become a pilot and aircraft prices for things like Cessnas are increasing faster than inflation.
