Seriously, it's bad when the only reason they gained a resurgence was because of a troll physics piss comic, people drawing rule 34 of one of the female faces and then the only good thing to come out of it was Tally Hall.I think trollge ruined rage comics, to be honest.
Favorite troll face other than the original would have to be troll dad (or newface)

Some gook drew a "curvy" version of the Derpina face (the one with the blonde hair) in a grey hoodie and black tank-top, and that somehow exploded in popularity, so other gooners and coomers drew their own sexualized versions of this interpretation/rendition of Derpina.marge
I'm sort of glad that it was just the troll face that gained a resurgence for the most part.IMO original trollge has it's uses
Though it's definitely no longer really meant for rage comics

Memes have to die or evolve at some pointI'm sort of glad that it was just the troll face that gained a resurgence for the most part.
Rage comics should never come back in full throttle because they would be ruined instantly, they came out in a different era with a different mindset that doesn't really exist anymore online. I mean, advice animals are still technically alive on Plebbit but look at what happened there.
Rage comics would either be misunderstood and reformed into an entirely different meme or they would be used sincerely to further a personal and or political agenda.
Their entire mindset is UHHHHHMMM WHAT IF [THING] BUT [THICK THIGHS BIG BOOBA]I hate the xitter art community
My bias is partially because I hate the current era of memes because of how convoluted the message is and how there are multiple layers of meaninglessness until you finally 'comprehend' the exoskeleton of the joke. It's constant filtering but for absolutely no reason or purpose.Memes have to die or evolve at some point
It's always interesting to see one so old come back but it almost always leads to it being morphed and skewed by different modern times
Even without that, I just see it as a black hole of chasing validation. The goonslop is a symptom of wanting that attention.Their entire mindset is UHHHHHMMM WHAT IF [THING] BUT [THICK THIGHS BIG BOOBA]
And then they get 18 quintillion reddit gold and the entire goonoosphere erupts
I wonder if soyjaks will ever die and be revived by a new generation at some point, and also in what way would they would change the formula or how it should be interpreted. It's always interesting to see one so old come back but it almost always leads to it being morphed and skewed by different modern times
You didn't ask for this tangent or my thoughts on this and for that I'm sorry, and also sorry to Skibidi for derailing the thread almost instantaneously. My bias is partially because I hate the current era of memes because of how convoluted the message is and how there are multiple layers of meaninglessness until you finally 'comprehend' the exoskeleton of the joke. A lot of it is cognitive dissonance, a random image paired up with text on top of the image, and if it's a gif or in a video format then it's numerous random images with unrelated text paired with random sound effects added to the video, it's the bare minimum of humor and is nothing but overstimulation to the brain, I think the reason why people find it funny is because of a similar effect to the "Obey the Walrus" video, in a way where there's too much information for the brain to process so people either laugh at it or become horrified. (though in the case of modern memes, it's laughter). This is also likely why people say that the "Agamemnon Counterpart" video could be a modern day shitpost.
I've actually asked people why they find a lot of modern memes funny, tried to be specific with the type of humor, and they unsurprisingly couldn't come up with an answer other than "It just is" or "I just find it funny" which does support the narrative above.
I think part of the problem is that memes have a broader definition now than 10 years ago, memes used to be online joke formats, now they're meant to express broader ideas and concepts, though you did have stupid shit back then like the YTMND era, YTP Poop, the MLG era, etc.
Soyjaks are very much in the category of evolving memesI wonder if soyjaks will ever die and be revived by a new generation at some point, and also in what way would they would change the formula or how it should be interpreted.
That's true, oddly though they don't seem like the type of meme that will ever stop evolving come to think of it, not unless the whole ethos and culture surrounding it just dies or falls apart completely.Soyjaks are very much in the category of evolving memes
