Thoughts on Call of Duty? (decline to slop)

I've played a lot of the older Call of Duty games that most people consider to be good (COD4, World at War, BO etc.), and I will admit I found them to be very good. I won't delve into ze quality of these older games too much since all of you probably played atleast one of them.

What I don't get the decline in quality that has been happening ever since Ghosts (2013) came out. Every single title tries to do something new or innovative and ends up being far more worse than the last few titles. The fact that the community is extremely retarded as well does not help. I remember there was a wave of them asking for "boots on the ground gameplay" (à la COD1-3) and when they got the title (COD WW2) they immediately started nitpicking for shit they did not like. This happens with any new COD. There will always be a group of 'groids (nostalgiafags) complaining about the new title und then bitching incessantly when they get whatever the fuck they wanted. Nowadays it's just mainstream goyslop that everybody plays.

I don't need to mention the new MW reboot. Everybody probably knows how bad it's going.
Thoughts on this decaying, rotting corpse of a franchise? I recommend only the older titles, since they manage to combine story und pathos very well.

it hurts

advanced warfare was the last great cod game
I tend to agree more with the nostalgiafags when it comes to the good and not good games. I feel like Advanced Warfare was far too astray from original COD mechanics for me, but there are a lot of reasons to like it aswell. I still think BO2 was easily the last "great" (as in, all the gamemodes are good fun to play) title that this series produced.

cod ghosts (however shit it was.) wasn't so bad. and i would argue was one of the last great cod games before microtransactions were hugely pushed on the goyslop series.
also 300 gbs?! for a game like the goyslop generic fps new cod game. come on now.

MW19's campaign was promising, it effectively set the tone and foundation for something great. Somehow they managed to mess it up and have it culminate in the worst campaign in the franchise, and I suspect Warzone is a huge reason behind that. The fact that BO6's marketing is deliberately distancing itself from Warzone tells me they're aware of the problem.
