I was thinking about app games, and live service games. Have you ever noticed that games have moved to being more about rolling the dice for something good? It comes to me that many app games and live service games employ variable reinforcement in the extreme, as the main way of driving engagement. For example take genshin impact. You roll RNG dice to get characters, weapons, thats how they get your money. Then when you've got that they make you roll the dice grinding for the right equipment with the right stats and the right substats all being rng points of success or failure. Thats how they get your time! It really hacks ones mind doesn't it. And don't think you are safe from it with by no playing these games, what about social media, what about engagement based algorithms, what about short form content being random, and the pull and dissatifaction it all generates!
Can you imagine what impact on mental wellbeing psychological manipulation being commonplace everyday mainstream entertainment would have on a society?

Idk, if I could make a game it would be some MMORPG without any deep lore (no gods or mythology), shitton of items (weapons like 7lvl ruby fire titan sword where you combine materials, shapes and enchantments), you earn your exp by killing animals/monsters like fire dragon/purple demon skeleton, bosses like Baba Yaga, Lord Dragon or some dark wizzard named like some metal band. You could also gain exp in other skills by crafting like in runescape. And the exp-level formula would be some cubic formula. The graphics would be even worse than classic runescape and the gameplay would be killing monsters, crafting items and talking to dumb npcs.
Maybe the only innovation I could add would be that players can create their own counties, then duchies, kingdoms and maybe empires (ofc by fighting each other). Plus the ruler can give permission to buy land. I wouldn't probably add races like dwarves or elfs because it would complicate gameplay too much.
