Yeah, but the staff in particular didn't like that their notifications were getting stuffed up, so they removed their perms. I'd guess the reasoning is that staff can't ignore any users, or else they'd risk not seeing a rule-breaking post, but through that inability, they also can't ignore the notification clog that happens when they get tranny-bombed, so, the easiest solution for 'em'd be to simply disable reactions for those posters.
