Rant remove / rework the shoutbox

but like instant and with no media.

it serves no real purpose on a forum site tbh, we don't need an instant chatroom, albeit an instant chatroom with no topic or theme might i add, for people to clog up with benign messages and be at the top of the fucking page. if you need the shoutbox can't you give it it's own page or put it at the very bottom? it's just so annoying, i dont want to see it on the home page really. my main issue with it is that it performs a feature that the site already accomplishes via threads, if you need an off topic talk thread, you'd just make one, i don't understand what the purpose of the shoutbox is even for and i doubt anyone is gonna use it in any serious way

so realistically if you want it, just hide it on main page, and keep https://soyjak.blog/index.php?shoutbox/ have people click this to get to it

or just get rid of it because we want an on site voice chat not a text chat.

this isnt even anywhere close to cord however theres no voice chat, no nsfw channel, no pedophiles, no groomers
it's not the real thing so just get rid of the shoutbox and let the offsiters go offsite

xhey are probably gonna add a voice chat soon and "vanilla, safe" nsfw erp could also be allowed. Call it slippery slope, but remember back in the days 'cordfags were despised and faggots who have xheir reddit karma alert turned on were universally mocked.
