My guess is they are trying to appear more european and don't know any better about europe, average (young) european doesn't care about christianity and religion in general, I'd say much more people hate religion nowadays because of Islam and other authoritarian sects.
(And yes, larping as christian, you rarely see any genuine christians on the internet and basically non-existant in real life, it's always the trad cath twitter bros)

I mean, asked some friends their faith and most of them believed in God.

The thing is majority of people would still say yes because it's the status quo, but Christian god no, people don't know who Moses was and wouldn't believe anything about the Old or even the New testaments if pushed to answer honestly
but maybe your friends are different

But they were Christians (most of them). The people you are referencing to are internet people that learned their faith on twitter.

yeah, that's kind of the thing I wanted to say, most new converts(if you can call them that) are non european and eternally online and they go and larp on internet about european identity when in reality it's a memory from the yore days (pre ww2 and a little bit after)
there are still genuine christians just very few

Yeah everytime I go to the church there are mostly just old people, not that many young people here anymore.
 
Christian third worlders trying to appear more American, not European. As you pointed out, Europeans are not religious, but Americans are. Third worlders see the world through the perspective of the US, so when they want to be right wing they become typical Texans, when they want to be left wing they become typical Californians.

Same same they try to larp as the first world, even thought first world is rapidly becoming/already is secular

I have only ever heard about two geniune Traditional Catholics, who are Asherah’s (If you don’t know who that is, look at my schlog blog) older sister and her husband. And from what I hear, she acts like a weirdo. Have I ever meet her before? No. Do I want to meet her just to troll her? Yes!

I'm brown and I larp as a christian by wearing a cross and doing token gestures of religion because I'm culturally catholic. I don't follow any commandments, I only go to church on major holidays etc etc.
