My favorite breed of cat is the Maine coon cat, because they are literal gigachad cats and are huge and fluffy and have a great personality. However, they are extremely rare and expensive, even though the demand is sky high and has been for years, and they are an american breed. I think there is some artificial scarcity and exclusivity at play here.
I think that every person should be able to have a giant fluffy kitty if they want to have one, and not have to ship cats of an american breed from across the world to america if they want one. SO, what if we took Maine coon cats, bred them with mutts, and flooded our local market with half coon cat mutts for cheap, democratizing big kitties for everyone, and increasing the net size of your average housecat?
Good idea?
