They can, but a lot of them are so bogged in the head that they find anything funny, so at this point the traditional "set up then punchline" structure doesn't cut it anymore. /tv/ would probably seethe and foam at the mouth from this statement, but an average zoomer is more likely to find nonsensical "post-ironic" bullshit like a waffle falling over with vine boom sound effects hilarious than someone like Rodney Dangerfield hilarious.
