Why? Aren't they just the cutest little things, better than dogs, even?
I used to be a dog person but for some reason my cat has convinced me that cats are better, he comes into my room sometimes at random, meows for me to open the door and then snuggles me while I browse soyjak.blog, can your dog do that? Didn't think so.

He likes to get on the counter and eat people's food. He also will conspire with my dogs and drag food off the counter at night for them to eat.

dogs are useful o algo. maybe it's the shitalian in me that makes me cautious around cats. dogs can protect you o algo.
 
There's a stray cat that rolled up to our porch one night many years ago, and so we've been letting him stay out there since then, now, leaving out cat food for him that we purchase from the store, and giving him a small bed-house structure right there on the porch for him to rest in, also occasionally letting him inside of the garage in the terribly cold parts of winter, when that bed would not be enough to warm him. He's a yellowish-brown cat with some black lines wrapping around his tail. He usually lets us pet him, too, and has a generally calm demeanor unless he encounters the dog, which he scatters at the sight of. I saw him today in the front yard, sitting atop a pile of gravel that we currently have piled up out there. He was looking right up to the sky upwards of him, almost "wisely" (as stoic as a feline face can look, anyway), the morning sun shining directly on him. I wonder what he was thinking about.
 
I always felt that pets were unnecessary companions. Have a child if you want THAT much of a companion, retard. Animals should be always useful - for example, livestock guard dogs. They put their lives on the line to protect sheep and whatnot. I always felt that cats were kind of useless - they aren't big enough to be threatening to any other possible predators, and they always have some fucking annoyance that is impossible to stomp out. Oh yeah and they shit everywhere. I don't like cats that much.

Our stray at least fends off against rats and bugs when those come about. He's good at that.
