The sign is a subtle joke. "Feed" and "Seed" both end in -eed, as does the owner's name, Sneed. However, neither rhyme with the former owner, Chuck, so how come the possesion of "Chuck's Feed & Seed" was miraculously passed on to a man who's name coincidentally rhymed perfectly with the store's name? Its duality makes a great adult joke because a child would derive the humour from the rhyming convention being interrupted, whereas an adult could easily notice that "Chuck's Feed & Seed" is funny because it sounds like someone is chucking feed and seed; there is, however, a more adequate in-universe explanation for this rhythmic dissonance: the sign only specifies that it was called "Chuck's" with nothing proceeding it, implying you would open the door just to see Chuck standing there. This also explains why there exist gummy bears in a seed shop, as they were simply there from the start for the purpose of satiating Chuck's hunger and weren't an intended part of the seed shop that would become of the location later. And the most shocking part of this is a widely unnoticed, extraordinarily subtle joke within the main joke which also ties in with The Simpsons' unending ability to consistently predict everything: the episode featuring Sneed's Feed & Seed, "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)", was released in 1999, and "Sneed", "Feed", and "Seed" all rhyme with "Assassin's Creed" (released 2007), a game developed by Asians who are, bear with me here, yellow, just like the Simpsons.

Wasn't that game made by Ubisoft Montreal? I know that a lot of people in Canada are Chinese these days but I don't think there were many of them in Ubisoft back then
