not really for LEARNING per se but it's really just to keep encouraging you to practice it, which is good if you're not in an environment where you can regular be exposed to your target language. but no i wouldn't say you can use duolingo to learn a language from scratch. it's just not a good place to start.

well i would say taking a class/getting a tutor, or watching a youtube learning series if you have the attention span for it (i didn't, that's why i spent 7 years learning before i even got the japanese alphabets down GEG)
