You pick the first thing that pops into your mind.
“Party games,” you answer in a trembling
voice.
MacDeath smiles. “Good.” He rubs his hands to-
gether. You glance down and cry out in surprise.
Long, sharp spikes are shooting out of his finger-
nails!
“Ouch!” he cries. “I scratched myself!”
He puts his hand to his mouth and sucks the
wound.
You and your friends stare in terror.
“All right—here’s how it works,” Dr.
MacDeath says. “We play games...until you
win! If you succeed, if you win just one of my
games, I'll leave. You’ll never see me again. But
until you win,” he gives an evil chuckle, “I will
stay — and fill your world with fear — even if
that means staying forever!”
You gulp. An eternity with Dr. MacDeath?
Nothing could be more horrible!
“Now,” MacDeath says. “What game do you want
to play? Pin the Tail on the Donkey? Paintball?
Dodgeball? Or shall we have a scavenger hunt?”
You glance at Alex for help. But he just shrugs.
“It’s your birthday,” he says. “You choose.”
