Have you ever wanted to write a book? Do you plan on writing a book? What genre? FictionTroon or nonfictionGOD? Would you ever make it public, or would it be something you kept hidden away for yourself and friends?

I make this thread because I'm starting to write a SNCA book for fun. I'm three chapters into my very rough draft.

Public so I can publish it and make tons of money since I'm actually a super duper good writer and not an ESL retard like my posting would suggest, for real, I'm actually really good, I swear.

in my opinion, the best way to get better at writing is to just write a bunch and have a text to speech app read it back to you. It won't fix the more technical side of your grammar, but it can help you determine what sounds good and what sounds bad.

Yes. I don't know what it would be, but I know I'd like to write one. Back in my freshman and early sophomore years, I wrote a long fictional story over the course of a bunch of hours in school study halls that was about a group of guerrilla militant bandits in Syria who ended up slowly falling into personal sectarian conflict with one another over Islamic religious doctrines and splintering off into their own miniature civil war in the midst of a larger battlefield between government forces and a separate jihadist organization, but I sadly seem to have lost the whole thing since some sort of school system update during my sophomore year caused all of my old documents on my Chromebook to simply disappear. It was probably the longest piece of text I've written.

Thats probably one of the hardest parts about writing. Thinking of stories is one thing, but having the time, patience, and skill to write it out is another. Thats why there are so many shitty best sellers. Just having the will and talent to finish a 200k word book is challenging enough.

Have you ever wanted to write a book?

I wanted to write something inspired by 50's Soyviet comedy (fuck the USSR but the jokes they had in books and TV were legendary)

Would be about two guys meeting in a bar and forming a Caucasian bandit gang and rising through corruption as a regional "Irony Party" above other criminal gangs larping as politicians that took it far too seriously.

Shit like that happened all throughout the 90's in Russia and in retrospect it was really muhfuggin funny. The most memorable such instance was when MMM (a Ponzi scheme) managed to buy out president Yeltsin's time slot for the traditional new year's address. Zhirinovsky actually came from such a background which is why he is seen and beloved as a forgotten great leader of Russia to this day.

I’m surprised everyone didn’t just say they want to write fantasy. Maybe I’m not as much of a hack for wanting to go in that dedication.

For certain. I believe that intonation is a huge part of comedy as well. It's difficult to put into simple, blank words inside a book.

It could be possible using misuse of the all too familiar text formats of bold, italic, underlines, and strikethroughs, but at which point would that become too childish? Too much would be too distractive from the actual contents of the book, too little wouldn't describe the intended intonation nearly as much, and would lead to obfuscation of the meaning.

I'm a fan of Zadornov. A master of manipulating his tone to be funny, while writing jokes that were very topical and ahead of their time. It's comfy to see how many modern internet memes appear to have the same substance as Zadornov's old jokes 1990-2010 era jokes.

What’s the point of writing a self-insert fantasy story and the extent to the fantasy is that you are a tranny? You can create a whole ass world, cracker. Use your imagination.
