Yes we do, its kind of weird and I don't miss doing that at all. Everyone all over the country does this too, Idk if something like it exists in other countries.
let me guess, you also have to put 5 dollars in the BLM jar, kneel to a holhol sympathy videos, watch sex education of gay intercourse, and say im okay with having a mixed race child 20 times before 9am?

Nah, only the pledge, wouldn't be surprised about the gay sex videos in places like California though.

i do this

I’m usually the only one who says it each morning (just because the people around me in my morning class have continued complimenting me about my voice near-everyday and have said they even find it pleasant to listen to during the pledge or when I otherwise speak, really warms my heart that people actually like something about me to the extent that it keeps coming up in conversation), as no one else really does, or if they do, they just mumble it quietly. Most people at least stand for it, a few remain seated for it. I only think of bad things when I look at the flag, albeit, so I try to look above it while I say the phrase. It doesn't mean anything to me, it only serves as an opportunity to warm my morning tone up. If we had to sing along with Brother Hao each morning instead (video related), there'd be little difference in how I make use of the time, as it's useful for warming that dried-out morning sound of one's voice, regardless of the words we're saying.

Oh, yeah, and we used to use a different salute in school pledges prior to the Second World War.
