I used to think this law was stupid but now I understand it a little more. It would only be stupid if Islam was some sort of Gnostic religion, and it is not. Neither is Christianity or Judaism. Gnostics would say, "sensual pleasures are bad because they are material" but to Abrahamics the goal is actually to be resurrected on a perfect earth. You will still have sensual pleasures but not sensual cravings, so you won't feel the need to be sex with your harem.

But think about it like food... Just because you no longer feel hunger, does that mean you cannot enjoy the taste of good food? You have lived as a human being, you were born as a human being, so you will always have an appreciation for beautiful women and their touch.

The Houris thing is actually not limited to Islam, many religions speak of beautiful women subservient to you in the afterlife. The Norse are served by Valkyries in Valhalla, albeit they are not wives or anything. But sometimes they are wives, not generally. The Hindoos actually have their own celestial maidens

In Zoroastrianism too, men are described as being rewarded a good women for their good deeds in life

I think Houris are probably made up to convert the barbaric and horny incel warriors of Arabia, but it is not an evil or stupid idea nor is it contradictory to Abrahamism

This is interesting, as the hadith that describes the Hoor-al-ayn being granted to martyrs, and its translation into English, specifically uses the word "he" to refer to the martyrs. Thing is, the first shahid in Islam was a lady named Sumayya, a member of the newly-established ummah in Mecca who was stabbed to death by a pagan persecutor of Muslims (who was later killed in the Battle of Badr IIRC). Albeit, even with this legacy to the shahada, of the first one on the whole planet being a lady, none of these ahadith seem to mention an equal reward for women. Maybe Parkles would know more of this topic, but as far as I've read, male martyrs will be rewarded at a higher degree than female ones, and in addition, if a couple was martyred together, it sounds to me like the guy would get his harem in addition to his wife, so his wife just gets to be a part of his 70+ group of other women. I'm sure Jannah has other nice things written about it to reward the female population of believers with, but getting to be a part of your husband's harem of 70 other women who were just given to him with no further previous romantic interaction between him and them sounds more like he's just cucking you to a massive degree for eternity.

apparently no, a women has no sight but to her husband and her husband has sight to 72 but it doesn't matter since the grand scale of paradise makes you forget temptation of lust and desire of gluttony. my brother told me that an angel has attempted to scale the heaven and he reached a 52 thousand years worth of human walking and was stopped by another to be told it's impossible since he hasn't even reached half the scale. being butthurt about 71 virgins compared to this is literally the adam and eve tree story all over again
