Discussion Console-like PCs?

I have finally accepted that Xbox is going the way of the dodo soon, but now I'm worried because I don't know what to replace it with. I'll address a few potential options first.
>PlayStation 5
Too used to Xbox to switch, and it's uncertain whether or not Microsoft will be porting their first party games (the one I care about is Microsoft Flight Simulator) to it.
>build a PC
The nice thing about consoles (especially my humble Series S) is that they are compact and elegant. I could very well build some stupid gayming rig, it's just that I have a limited amount of space in the small cabinet next to my desk. Ventilation would also be an issue; my Series S already gets pretty toasty, even with the ceiling fan running. I guess it's my fault for living in southern burgerland.
>buy one of those mini workstations from Dell/Lenovo/HP
This is what I was set on at first, but I later realized how stupid that would be. Just off the top of my head, a Dell Precision (let's say one of the tiny ones with a mid-range i5, 16GB of RAM, and an nVidia T1000 4GB GPU) would cost about $1,500 USD if I had to guess. I get that consoles are sold at a loss and all, but what they're charging is absurd.

Now that I'm done bitching, I'd like to ask if something I'm imagining exists. What I want to buy is some sort of console-like device that has specs on par with an Xbox Series X, but it's an actual PC in a much more compact form factor than a typical PC. I'd be willing to spend $1,000 on it. That's all I want. Sorry for the rambling.
Think of the Steam Deck, but as a home console.

All the handheld PC hybrids can connect to the TV so why not go with that?
two problems with something like the steam deck:
  1. there's a battery inside. that may sound like a weird thing to complain about, but batteries fail as they get older and the one in the deck is a pain to replace from what i've seen. i only play video games at home
  2. too weak. it simply can't run microsoft flight simulator, even at 1080p/30fps. i think the main issue is memory bandwidth (it uses normal RAM/LPDDR5 instead of GDDR6 for everything) so the GPU is cucked.
also the deck and other handhelds are too fucking big. i think it's like a foot long.

For OP
Just find a mini-ATX or micro-ATX case and motherboard, the Micro-ATX is closest to console size

For poorfags
You can buy a semi-old 2012 - 2015 used cheap one for around £75 - £100, it should have ddr3 ram but if you want faster RAM you might be able to find a motherboard which fits for it, also get a new power supply for your GPU which your going to put in it if your fine with an old motherboard, and upgrade your CPU to the best one your motherboard supports

I will probably buy a Gaystation 5 eventually, not because I like the PS5 but because I want to play GTA 6 when it launches, yeah I know it will suck but it’ll be a monumental experience so I wanna experience it while it’s new, doubt I’ll be double dipping and purchasing on PC. Also I can play some games I want to try out like Gravity Rush 2
Honestly you could probably just wait for a sale and get a Series X for 300-350 dollars (since no one is buying them geg) and just enable developer mode, then you can play basically whatever games you want from up until the Xbox 360 era, it's not like new games are going to be any better
