/cnc/ - Computer-Numerical Control and Computer-aided Design/Manufacturing General

I don’t know what any of this means
CNC is like those computer-operated routers/mills/laser cutters/etc.
CAD is like 3d modeling, but used as a guide for manufacturing real-life objects, not for video games/movies or television.
CAM is basically planning out the path for a CNC machine to cut out to make your desired part

Talk about CNC machining, CAD modeling, and CAM on here
I did some modeling and shit at school but it was mostly lathes, I think lathes are much more fun you can make guns and engines and shieeeeee

I studied it because every retarded boomer was shouting "nobody wants to do mechanical engineerign anymore" and "this generation doesnt want to get their hands dirty"
In the end nobody replied to my CVs after school and now I work in IT by a complete chance geg, I hate boomers, heavy industry dying is completely their fault because they are penny pinching jews that start hiring the next generation of their personel AFTER the shit hits the fan

how old are you?

Doing a CAD class in college rn. Fusion 360 sucks cocks but hopefully I'll get the hang of it
I personally use Onshape, mainly because that was the software they taught in my CAD class I took in freshman year and used on my school's robotics team.
I use freecad (free as in freedom) because it isn't a proprietary botnet.

proprietry golems have to 6 gorrilion dollars every year to mr. shekelberg for licenses
>muh just pirate it
no company does that because of shekelbergs jannies
Dude you can just get an education license and renew every year; those are free. Onshape doesn't require a student ID.

>Hmph. I will NOT use the software (which is used in most companies anyway) required for this course, it's all a Jewish psyop for midwit goyslaves like my classmates whom I don't talk to anyway.

<I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately you need to use this software to do the assignments, and since you can't do the assignments you'll have to fail the course, which I will remind you that you need to pass to successfully in order to get your STEM degree.
